A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES OF THE LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES (LMP) – PROVINCE OF ILOILO TO THE BEREAVED FAMILY OF FORMER MAYOR RENE DELOS SANTOS CORDERO OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ESTANCIA, ILOILO
WHEREAS, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Province of Iloilo is deeply saddened by the passing of Former Mayor Rene Delos Santos Cordero, a respected leader and public servant who devoted his life to the service and welfare of his community in Estancia, Iloilo;
WHEREAS, Former Mayor Rene Delos Santos Cordero, born on November 3, 1938, was a devoted husband to Geronima Bakabak Cordero and a loving father to their children: Rene B. Cordero, Jr., Joel B. Cordero, and Brenda Cordero-Ledesma;
WHEREAS, Former Mayor Rene Delos Santos Cordero’s distinguished public service career spanned decades, holding the following positions
- Sangguniang Bayan Member of Estancia from February 2, 1988, to June 30, 1992;
- Municipal Mayor of Estancia for a total of 15 years, serving five consecutive terms from July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2007 and July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2019;
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Municipal Mayor, He championed numerous programs and projects that significantly improved the quality of life in Estancia, Iloilo, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, public health, education, and economic development;
WHEREAS, his exceptional leadership and steadfast commitment to the people of Estancia earned him the respect and admiration of his constituents, peers, and colleagues, leaving a legacy of dedication, integrity, and public service excellence;
WHEREAS, his passing is a profound loss not only to his family but also to the Municipality of Estancia and the Province of Iloilo, as he exemplified the highest standards of leadership and governance throughout his career;
WHEREAS, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Province of Iloilo stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this time of mourning and conveys its heartfelt condolences and prayers for comfort and strength;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, that the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Province of Iloilo conveys its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Former Mayor Rene Delos Santos Cordero, recognizing his selfless and exemplary contributions to the Municipality of Estancia and the Province of Iloilo;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Province of Iloilo acknowledges and honors the extraordinary public service legacy of Former Mayor Rene Cordero, whose leadership and dedication left an indelible mark on his community and inspired countless others;
RESOLVED FINALLY, that a copy of this resolution be furnished to the family of Former Mayor Rene Delos Santos Cordero as a token of the League’s gratitude and recognition for his outstanding service to the people of Estancia, Iloilo.
