ILOILO CITY – In a concerted effort to fortify local and national government ties, Iloilo Mayors actively participated in the “Strengthening the National Development Roadmap through Intensified Local – National Government Connections Forum.” The event, featuring the presence of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr., took place on January 19, 2023, at Days Hotel in Iloilo City.

This significant gathering saw the convergence of Governors, City and Municipal Mayors, Liga Ng mga Barangay Presidents, and other Officials from the Provinces of Region 6. The forum aimed to foster closer collaboration between local and national authorities, facilitating a more synchronized and efficient approach to national development initiatives.

Organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Local Government Regional Resource Center (DILG-LGRRC), in partnership with the Province of Iloilo and the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)-Iloilo, the activity underscored the importance of a unified effort in advancing the country’s overall development roadmap. The exchange of ideas and insights during the forum is expected to contribute significantly to the formulation of strategic plans that address the diverse needs of local communities while aligning with broader national objectives.
